Random Facts

It’s called “clumsyrings” because, well — I’m a bit clumsy myself. And I work that way too.
Things often take twice as long when tools keep falling, I cut myself again, or forget where I just put my tools. It’s always a bit chaotic — never professional or perfect.

And that’s exactly what my rings are like. They’re handmade, maybe not perfectly round, not always cut to the exact same width, or flawlessly closed — but that’s what makes them real and still beautiful. You can see the process in every piece.

A clumsy ring born from a clumsy process — and that’s exactly how I like it.

About the Rings

Every ring is one of a kind. Each piece is handcrafted from recycled vintage cutlery — old knives, forks, and spoons from all around the world that have their own unique history to tell.

The material used is high-quality stainless steel. Some rings are additionally silver- or gold-plated to give them an extra touch of elegance and shine.

Thanks to the durable material, the rings are built to last — resistant to wear, tarnish, and everyday use. They won’t discolor over time and won’t leave any marks on your skin.

Each piece is carefully shaped, polished, and finished by hand, turning forgotten objects into timeless jewelry with soul and story.

Hi, I´m Marc

I started making rings through a few passions of mine. I’m a trained craftsman and have always enjoyed working on DIY projects and learning new hands-on skills. On top of that, I love jewelry — especially rings. I think rings always look awesome, no matter the outfit.

What fascinates me most is jewelry from ancient times — pieces that our grandparents, great-grandparents, or even earlier generations used to wear. Back then, people put great value on aesthetics and intricate details. Even everyday objects like cutlery were beautifully decorated with engravings and patterns.

I search for these kinds of old pieces to create something new out of them and bring their beauty back to life, instead of letting them gather dust in grandma’s basement.

This also ties in with another passion of mine: browsing through thrift stores, antique shops, flea markets, or eBay to travel back in time and hunt for hidden treasures.

Making these rings is just a hobby for me, but I’m excited to share my finds with you and offer them as high-quality pieces of jewelry. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. 🙂

How the Rings are made

Step 1

Cutting

I measure the finger for the ring and cut the piece of cutlery to the right length.

Step 2

Grinding

I carefully grind down the sharp edges to give the ring a smooth shape and make sure there´s no risk of injury.

Step 3

Bending

Next, I bend the ring using my bending machine – shaping it perfectly round and to the right size.

Step 4

Polishing

Finally, I polish the finished ring – first with a coarse polish, then with a fine one – to achive the best result.
